Marcel·lí Antúnez Roca (Moià, Barcelona, 1959) is internationally renowned for his activities in mechatronic performances and his interactive installations. From his earliest days, as founder of the theatre company La Fura dels Baus in 1979, Marcel·lí has assembled his own special universe of interests, to which he has contributed (among other things) his interest in Outsider Art, the trends of the 1960s, technology, science, comics and popular traditions.

The Chilean Pavilion at the 56th Venice Biennale brings together works by outstanding Chilean artists Paz Errázuriz and Lotty Rosenfeld.Both artists are recognized for their intense labor since the eighties during the dictatorship period, in which they were noted for their active political work and constant criticism through different artistic expressions.

For the Brazilian artist Ernesto Neto, who defines himself as a sculptor, his works are created to be passed through, lived in, felt and even smelt, which enables the spectator to experience their own body, their senses and their mind by means of the work of art and vice versa. Interacting with the surroundings and with others, the visitor sees himself immersed in a fusion of sculpture and architecture.

Swimming Horsesis a book that emerged from the desire to review the elements that have accompanied the creations of Mal Pelo throughout the past twelve years. On one side it presents the photographs of Jordi Bover, which as well as the visual force and depth they contain, enable different aspects of the work to be observed: The movement, the use of objects, the lighting, the gestures and presence, the tensions of the space and some of his own codes and tools.

Eight people out of work covering the widest possible social spectrum were photographed by Francesc Torres as he lived alongside them for one to two weeks. During this period, the artist documented their daily lives: some recycle scrap, others send out résumés, others are apparently not doing anything, as if this were now a given state for their lives, others seek a change in their professional life, others are helping those even less fortunate than them. All of them are surviving, alone or with their families.

ART Situacions offers an appealing prospective map of the very up-to-date artistic creativity. ART Situacions is a new private initiative that aims to support emerging contemporary art in the Iberian Peninsula and to reach the general public. The project is directed by Pilar Forcada and assessed by a committee formed by Teresa Blanch, María de Corral, Yolanda Romero and Vicente Todolí, who are prominent experts in education, curatorship, museology and management of art centres.

Light, words, and the ephemeral—that shifting condition of random—are concepts present in some form in the entire oeuvre of Chema Alvargonzalez (1960-2009), an artist who divided the two decades of his career between Barcelona and Berlin. Whereas Bruce Nauman and Dan Flavin are Alvargonzalez’s direct sources in the way he configures the space through experimentation with lighting, Mallarmé serves as the basis of his linguistic approach to the practice of art.

Dominó canibalis proposed as a counter-model to the usual types of artistic participation, presenting it as a platform made up of overlaps and discontinuities between various artists who engage with one another successively and in stages in the same space, cannibalizing (reinterpreting, demolishing and appropriating) the work of the other participants.
